EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - After 18 holes at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate at the Olympic Hills Golf Club, the Bruins sit in fourth place following a 7-over 295 on Sunday. UCLA is seven shots back of first-place Arkansas heading into Monday's second round.
In her first collegiate event, freshman Patty Tavatanakit is tied for sixth after a 1-under 71. She birdied her first hole, the 10th, also gaining strokes on #13, #18, #1 and #5, while making four bogeys. Sophomore Clare Legaspi joins Tavatanakit in the Top 15 after a 1-over 73 (T-12). She made two birdies on #13 and #3 and three bogeys.
Junior Beth Wu is tied for 22nd after one round, posting a 3-over 75. She birdied #14, #4 and #8 to go with four bogeys and a double. Sophomore Mariel Galdiano recorded a 4-over 76 and is tied for 29th, making birdies on #13 and #6, four bogeys and a double. Senior Joo Seo posted a non-team scoring 8-over 80, notching birdies on #4 and #9, six bogeys and two doubles.
The Bruins will begin round two on Monday at 9 a.m. CT/7 a.m. PT off the first tee in the order of Seo, Galdiano, Wu, Legaspi and Tavatanakit. Live scoring will be available here.
