SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - Junior Patrick Murphy is the top Bruin after 36 holes of golf on Monday at the Wood Ranch Golf Club, sitting in a tie for 12th at the Bill Cullum Invitational.

Murphy is one of just 21 players under par following a marathon day, shooting a 3-under 69 in the morning and a 1-over 73 in the afternoon (-2, 142). He made six birdies in his opening round, getting off to a good start with a birdie on his first hole, the 15th. Murphy also gained strokes on #18, #4, #6, #9 and #12, adding a bogey and a double. In his second round, the junior again birdied the 18th and fourth holes to go with three bogeys.

Junior Jack Ireland was the top Bruin after 18 holes following a morning 68 (-4). Starting on the 13th, he made birdies on #15 and #18 before dropping his first stroke on the second. Ireland then went 3-under in the span of two holes with an eagle on #6 and a birdie on #7. The junior shot a 4-over 76 in the afternoon, making birdies on #14 and #18 and six bogeys, putting him in a tie for 22nd (E, 144) after two rounds.

Junior Phil Delisi is tied for 26th (+1, 145), improving nine strokes from his morning to afternoon rounds. For his first 18, he shot a 5-over 77 with a birdie on the second and six bogeys. Delisi was then bogey-free in his second 18, making 14 pars and four birdies on #18, #2, #4 and #6 for a 4-under 68, a collegiate-low round.

Senior Corey Shaun is tied for 34th (+3, 147), shooting a 2-over 74 in the morning and a 1-over 73 in the afternoon. He made three birdies on #17, #18 and #10 in his first 18 to go with three bogeys and a double. Shaun recorded three more birdies in his second round (#16, #6, #7), two bogeys and a double.
