SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - Junior Patrick Murphy completed the Bill Cullum Invitational as the top Bruin finisher, as four individuals wrapped up play at the Wood Ranch Golf Club on Tuesday.
Murphy tied for 17th with an even-par 216 following a 2-over 74 in his final round. He made seven birdies on #14, #15, #18 and #2, and then three in a row on holes #6-#8, adding three bogeys and three doubles.
Senior Corey Shaun shot the best round of the day for UCLA with an even-par 72 to finish in a tie for 32nd (+3, 219). He made four birdies on #15, #18, #3 and #12 along with four bogeys. Juniors Phil Delisi and Jack Ireland each tied for 34th at +4 (220). Delisi posted a 3-over 75 on four birdies (#4, #7, #9 and #12), five bogeys and a double. Ireland recorded a 4-over 76, making a trio of birdies on #15, #2 and #4, three bogeys and two doubles.
UCLA returns to team competition this weekend at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate, which runs from Friday through Sunday in Alpharetta, Ga.
