KOHALA, Hawai'i - Without hitting a shot on Tuesday, the second-ranked Bruins won their second tournament in a row, as the Nanea Pac-12 Preview was limited to 36 holes following today's rainout. UCLA, which won last week's Stanford Intercollegiate, posted an 11-shot victory (-20, 564) over Stanford.
Four Bruins finished inside the Top Five, with junior Lilia Vu placing second (-7, 139). Freshman Patty Tavatanakit was third (-5, 141), junior Beth Wu was fourth (-4, 142), sophomore Mariel Galdiano tied for fifth (-2, 144) and sophomore Clare Legaspi tied for 11th (+1, 147). A link to Monday's first- and second-round recap can be found here.
The Bruins picked up the program's 11th victory over the last three seasons and the 64th of head coach Carrie Forsyth's career. It was also the second time UCLA won the Nanea Pac-12 Preview (2015) in the fifth year of the event.
UCLA has one more tournament to complete its fall schedule, traveling to the Battle at the Beach (Nov. 3-5) at the Club Campestre San Jose in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico.
