LOS ANGELES โ Ten UCLA men's tennis players are set to complete the fall schedule at three tournaments this week. A pair of Bruins will head to Palm Desert, Calif. for the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, while three will take part in the Larry Easley Memorial Classic in Las Vegas and four others tackle the Jack Kramer Club Collegiate Invitational in Rolling Hills Estates, Calif. The tournaments will begin Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, respectively.
Martin Redlicki's run to the singles final at the Saint Francis Health System ITA All American Championships earned the senior an automatic bid to the inaugural Oracle ITA National Fall Championships. Made up of the fall season's top performers, the 64-man field will also include at-large pick Logan Staggs, who is currently ranked No. 75 in the nation. Redlicki is No. 24. The seniors have registered stellar starts to their final seasons. Redlicki, who has only participated in the All American tournament, has a 5-1 record, while Staggs is off to a 7-3 start.
The Larry Easley Memorial Classic will feature a quartet of Bruins competing in the singles and doubles tournaments. Two first-time teams will be featured in the doubles bracket, with Maxime Cressy joining Austin Rapp and Bryce Pereira teaming up with Connor Rapp. Austin Rapp will look to continue the hot start to his senior season, as the Rancho Mirage, Calif. native has won five of six matches this fall, including the Aztec Fall Invitational Flight-1 singles championship.
Rounding out the list of Bruins in action this week are Lucas Bellamy, Ben Goldberg, Connor Hance and Keegan Smith, who will participate in the Jack Kramer Club Collegiate Invitational. In doubles play, the all-freshman team of Bellamy and Hance will make its debut, while Goldberg will join up with Smith for the first time. Smith recently recorded two wins at the 61st Annual Southern California Intercollegiate Championships, knocking off Jens Sweaney of USC and Everett Maltby of UC Davis. He posted a 7-3 mark in his first month as a Bruin.
