UCLA Men's Cross Country Team Earns NCAA Bid

The UCLA men's cross country team has received an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships, which will take place on Saturday, Nov. 18 at at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky. The NCAA bid is UCLA's fourth consecutive and 12th overall.
The Bruins, who are led by Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Avery Anderson and assistant coach Devin Elizondo, placed fifth at the NCAA West Regional in Seattle on Nov. 10. UCLA entered the Regional as the 10th-ranked team in the nation after recording Top 3 team finishes in all but one meet this season.
At the NCAA Regional meet, the Bruins rested first-team All-Pac-12 runner Robert Brandt but still placed five Bruins in the Top 40, led by Garrett Reynolds, who finished 14th to earn all-region honors. The Bruin women finished 12th at the Regional and did not receive an at-large bid.
Thirty-one teams were selected to participate in each championship. The top two, seven-person teams automatically qualified from each of the nine regions, for a total of 18 teams. Thirteen additional teams were selected at-large.
