ATLANTA, Ga. - UCLA junior guard Aaron Holiday has been selected as one of 50 players nationwide to the 2018 Citizen Naismith Trophy preseason watch list, announced Thursday by the Atlanta Tipoff Club.

Holiday, a 6-foot-1 guard from Chatsworth, Calif., played in all 36 games last season averaging 12.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game. He was one of five UCLA players to average double-figure scoring and ranked second on the team in assists per game and steals per game. Holiday also secured his first collegiate double-double in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Kent State with 15 points and 11 assists.

Holiday has averaged 11.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4.2 assists the past two seasons - playing in 68 career games during that span. Through his first two seasons, he has shot 41.4 percent (92 for 222) from three-point range in his career, currently standing as the sixth-highest career percentage at UCLA.

Holiday is one of eight Pac-12 players selected to the preseason watch list, along with Arizona's Rawle Alkins, Deandre Ayton and Allonzo Trier, USC's Bennie Boatwright, Jordan McLaughlin and Chimezie Metu and Stanford's Reid Travis.

The mid-season list for the 2018 Naismith Men's Trophy will be pared to 30 selections on Feb. 14, 2018.

UCLA, ranked No. 18 in the preseason Associated Press poll, opens the regular season against Georgia Tech in Shanghai, China, as part of the 2017 Pac-12 China Game. UCLA's game will begin at 8:30 p.m. PT on Friday (12:30 p.m. on Saturday in Shanghai) at Baoshan Arena.
