Junior Aaron Holiday of the UCLA men's basketball team has been named the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Dec. 18-24.

Holiday was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week as he helped UCLA secure victories over South Dakota (85-82) and No. 7 Kentucky (85-73) in New Orleans in the CBS Sports Classic last week. Holiday averaged 17.5 points, 6.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game as the Bruins improved their overall record to 9-3, entering Pac-12 play. Between both games, Holiday was 10-for-12 at the free throw line (83 percent). He scored 15 points in the victory against South Dakota before totaling 20 points in the win against Kentucky.

In the win over No. 7 Kentucky on Saturday afternoon, he scored eight of UCLA's final 12 points over a 2:30 span to help the Bruins record their third win over Kentucky in five meetings (all over the last four seasons). Holiday and teammate Thomas Welsh became the only UCLA players (and Pac-12 players) to have ever played in at least three wins over Kentucky during their collegiate careers.

UCLA will return to action against Washington State (8-4) on Friday evening in Pauley Pavilion. Game time is 5 p.m. (PT). UCLA's game against Washington State will be nationally televised on ESPN2, with Roxy Bernstein and Bill Walton calling the action.

Also Nominated: Jordin Canada (Women's Basketball).
