Bruins post 10th-straight win over the Wildcats.

TUCSON, Arizย --ย Senior Nicole Kornet had the first double-double of her Bruin career with a season-best 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead #15 UCLA to a 79-56 win on Friday night at McKale Center. It marked the Bruins' 10th-consecutive win over the Wildcats.

Junior Jordin Canada added 21 points with four assists and four steals while juniorย Monique Billings had her 17thย double-double of theย season with 12 points and 11 rebounds in 27 minutes for UCLA (21-7, 12-5 Pac-12).

UCLA scored the first six points of the game and never trailed at Arizona, which dropped to 13-15 overall and 4-13 in league play.

With the win, UCLA improved to 58-21 all-time versus the Wildcats including a 27-12 mark in Tucson.

Monique Billings had eight points and six rebounds at the end of the first quarter, which UCLA led 17-14. But the junior forward picked up her second foul early in the second quarter and finished with those numbers at the half. With her teammate sidelined, Canada went to work in the second quarter and had 10 points by the break. The Bruins managed to build a 36-23 lead by intermission by holding Arizona to nine points in the second quarter. UCLA also got three-pointers from Kornet and Kari Korver in the period to keep the Wildcats at bay.

Winning every quarter, UCLA outscored Arizona 19-15 in the third with Kornet registering 10 points and seven rebounds heading into the finalย quarter.

The Bruins won the fourth period 24-18 with Kornet scoring 11 points in the final stanza. It is the third time this season that the senior transfer has scored double digits in the final period. The most notably was a 15-point quarter to lead UCLA to its first win at #8 Stanford since 1999.

LaBrittney Jones led the Wildcats with 26 points and seven rebounds. Dejza James was the only other Arizona player to score in double figures with 11 points.
