Brymer Named Region's Top Senior by ITA

TEMPE, Ariz. โ UCLA senior Gage Brymer has been named the ITA Southwest Region Senior Player of the Year, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Monday. The national award winners will be declared May 23.
Brymer posted a 21-11 overall record in his final season at UCLA, including a 10-7 mark in dual-match play. During a stretch from Feb. 13-19, the senior recorded singles victories against three Top-40 opponents and was elevated to a career-high No. 10 Oracle/ITA ranking as a result. In all, the current No. 28-ranked player defeated nine nationally-ranked players and posted five match-clinching wins on the year. Brymer also found doubles success with a 5-2 mark with three different partners on Court 3.
The Irvine, Calif. (University HS) native was recently selected to the NCAA Division I singles championship (May 24-29) in Athens, Ga., but will be unable to participate due to injury. He will also miss the team competition.
