UCLA Wins Regular-Season Finale at Oregon

EUGENE, Ore. – Jon Olsen allowed just one run over 8.0 innings on the mound, while Sean Bouchard and Michael Toglia each recorded three RBIs as the UCLA baseball team won its regular-season finale at Oregon, 10-1, on Saturday from PK Park. Brett Stephens and Daniel Amaral each collected four base hits to help lead the UCLA offense.
UCLA jumped out quickly with two runs in the top of the first inning as Toglia hit a double down the third-base line to bring in Stephens, followed by Bouchard scoring on a ground ball to second base off the bat of Chase Strumpf.
The Bruins made it a 4-0 advantage in the second inning as Bouchard hit a two-run single up the middle with the bases loaded to plate Ryan Kreidler and Rosica. UCLA score three runs in the fourth inning when Daniel Amaral hit an opposite field RBI-single and two batters later Toglia brought home a pair of runs with a single through the right-side of the infield.
UCLA grabbed a 9-run advantage after a single by Jeremy Ydens scored a run in the sixth inning and Bouchard drove in his third run of the game with a ground ball to the second baseman to plate Amaral from third base.
Oregon scored its first run of the game in the bottom of the seventh inning as Gabe Matthews hit a single up the middle to score Spencer Steer.
Olsen (7-1) earned his sixth win during conference play after allowing one run in 8.0 innings of work on four hits and eight strikeouts. Oregon's Cole Stringer (4-3) suffered the loss allowing four runs on six hits in 2.0 innings.
UCLA (30-25, 19-11) finished the game with 10 runs on 17 hits with no errors, while Oregon (30-25, 12-18) ended with one run on five hits with one error.
UCLA will await the NCAA baseball committee's selection of the 64-team field for the NCAA Tournament. The college baseball NCAA Tournament selection show will air Monday at 9 a.m. (PT) on ESPN2.
