BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Thirteen members of the UCLA women's water polo team earned ACWPC Women's All-Academic Awards for 2017, the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches announced Friday. Freshman Haley Evans was named an "Outstanding" recipient. Six Bruins earned "Superior" accolades, while six more rounded out the list with "Excellent" honors.
Evans, from Laguna Beach, Calif., led the Bruins with an "Outstanding" designation. In order to receive such an honor, a student-athlete must hold a cumulative grade-point average between 3.71 and 4.0.
For the second consecutive year, meanwhile, junior Devin Grab (So. Pasadena, Calif.) earned "Superior" recognition from the ACWPC, meaning she possessed a GPA in the 3.41-3.70 range. Joining Grab in that range were junior Donya Dehnad, sophomores Grace Reego and Louise Hazell and freshmen Bronte Halligan and Hannah Storum.
Rounding out the UCLA honorees were those who earned "Excellent" honors. Seniors Kelsey O'Brien and Kodi Hill, junior Nicole Reynolds, sophomores Allieย Wieseler and Lizette Rozeboom and freshman Maddie Musselman each held a GPA between 3.20 and 3.40 at the time of their selections. Reynolds (Burlingame, Calif.) also earned ACWPC All-Academic honors in 2016.
The ACWPC Women's All-Academic Awards are open to all players who dressed for their respective teams and possessed a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20.
