Budgett, Edwards to Compete for Great Britain

Rising juniors Saskia Budgett and Kyra Edwards have secured spots on the Great Britain Under 23 National Team that will compete July 19-23 at the 2017 World Rowing Under 23 Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
Budgett and Edwards join UCLA teammate Carlisle Wheeler as participants at the upcoming U23 Championships in Bulgaria. Wheeler will be competing for the USRowing Under 23 National Team in the Women's Four crew alongside three other collegiate women's rowers.
Budgett and Edwards rowed at the Under 23 Championships in the Netherlands last summer. Budgett took fourth place, rowing for Great Britain in the A final of the U-23 4-. Edwards raced to a second-place finish in the B final, rowing for Great Britain in the U-23 4x. Her crew finished less than one second from advancing in the A final in the repechage.
Both Budgett and Edwards have rowed in UCLA's varsity eight crew during their freshman and sophomore seasons. Both UCLA rowers are among 56 athletes who will compete for Great Britain at the 2017 World Rowing Under 23 Championships.
UCLA's Budgett and Edwards will row for Great Britain in the women's quadruple scull (W4x) alongside Anna Thornton (Nottingham RC) and Lucy Glover (Warrington RC).
