LOS ANGELES - UCLA head softball coach Kelly Inouye-Perez has announced the addition of Rodney Davis to the coaching staff. Davis will join the Bruins as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2017-2018 season.

"We welcome Rodney to our UCLA softball coaching staff for this upcoming season," Inouye-Perez said. "Rodney will oversee our outfielders and aid assistant coach Lisa Fernandez with our offense. Rodney comes to us with great knowledge of the game of baseball and is well respected for his ability to coach and develop players. I believe he will be an outstanding addition to our staff and Bruin family."

Davis has spent more than two decades in the world of Major League Baseball as a scout for the Cleveland Indians, Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Dodgers. He has worked with the MLB Scouting Bureau and most recently was the Senior Manager of the MLB Urban Youth Academy. Davis, who spent four years in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization and was the founder/director of the Arizona Baseball Club, has also served as an assistant baseball coach at San Francisco State and a minor league coach with the Los Angeles Angels Rookie League team. Davis has three children, including son Khris, who is in his fifth season in MLB and second with the Oakland Athletics.
