UCLA freshmen Karina Rodriguez, Ashley Sanchez and Viviana Villacorta have been selected to the United States' 20-player roster for the 2018 CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship, which will be held Jan. 18-28 in Trinidad & Tobago. Additionally, freshman Olivia Athens has been selected as an alternate.

All four Bruins were starters for UCLA during its deep postseason run, starting all six NCAA Tournament games. Rodriguez was selected to Top Drawer Soccer's Freshman Best XI second team and ranked second among field players in minutes played with 2,041. Sanchez earned Top Drawer Soccer Best XI third-team honors and was a first-team All-West Region and All-Pac-12 selection after scoring 24 points on six goals and a UCLA freshman record 12 assists. Villacorta played in all 25 games for UCLA and started 15, recording four assists on the year. Athens scored the game-winning goal, the first of her collegiate career, in UCLA's quarterfinal win over Princeton.

The 2018 CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship features eight nations divided into two groups of four teams. The top two finishers in each group will qualify for the semifinals, with the winners of those games, along with the winner of the third-place match, earning berths to the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in France.

All 16 matches of the tournament will take place across eight matchdays at Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, Trinidad. The United States will open the tournament on Jan. 19 against Nicaragua, face Jamaica on Jan. 21 and finish group play against Mexico on Jan. 23.

The U.S. has won four consecutive CONCACAF championships, most recently in 2015 with Sanchez on the squad. Sanchez scored three goals and five assists, including the game-winner in the championship match for a 1-0 victory over Canada. She went on to start all six matches in the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, scoring one goal and tallying two assists. Sanchez, along with Rodriguez, also later played in the 2016 U-17 Women's World Cup, serving as team captain and scoring three goals.

UCLA is tied with Stanford for the most players on the squad.
