LOS ANGELES – Reigning Pac-12 Diver of the Month Eloise Belanger continued her success into 2018, as the junior took the 1-Meter competition on Day 1 of the Bruin Invitational at Spieker Aquatics Center.

Belanger posted a total score of 636.00, including a 324.30 showing over her six final-round dives. Stanford's Kassidy Cook finished second, tallying a score of 584.40.

With four scores of at least 52.50, Belanger led after the preliminary round at 311.70. Her 105B second dive went for a 58.50 and there was little looking back for the Montreal, QC, Canada native. Senior Ciara Monahan was consistent throughout, scoring a 269.50 and putting her in eighth place and squarely in contention.

Fifty-five divers in all took part in the 1-Meter event, and all five Bruins finished in the top half. Freshman Alice Yanovsky posted a score of 228.90 to finish 23rd, while Traci Shiver finished right on her teammate's heels in 25th (227.75). Madeline Russell rounded out the list of Bruins, scoring a 221.10 to come in 27th.

With 18 divers advancing to the final, Belanger and Monahan moved on. Monahan showed steady improvement over her first four dives, working her way up to her best of the day. The Woodland Hills, Calif. native posted a 53.30 on her 5333D and averaged a mark of 51.40 over her final four dives.

There was no stopping Belanger in the final. Her 105B once again went for 58.50 and she did not score lower than 50.40 down the stretch. A 55.90 on her 5333D sixth dive clinched the title. Belanger also claimed the 1-Meter on Day 1 of the Georgia Fall Invite last month.

On the men's side, USC's Dashiell Enos won the 3-Meter with a total score of 758.85. He led after the preliminary round and went on to score 386.85 in the final.
