LOS ANGELES -- Six Bruins received MPSF All-Academic accolades, as announced by the league office.

To make the MPSF All-Academic team, the student-athlete must have completed one academic year at the institution, have at least a 3.0 grade point average and have played in 50 percent of the team's games in 2017.

The six from UCLA are seniors Matt Farmer, Jack Grover and James Robinson, junior Austin Rone, sophomore James Vlachonassios and redshirt sophomore Alex Wolf.

Farmer, a center from La Grange, Ill. (Fenwick HS), earned All-Academic honors for the second time in his career. This year he played in 25 games making 12 starts, scoring 29 goals. He also registered 12 steals and three field blocks and led UCLA in exclusions drawn with 44 and in penalty shots earned with four.

Grover, an attacker from Pasadena, Calif. (Loyola HS), earned All-Academic honors for the second time in his career. He played in 25 games making 18 starts on the year. He scored 13 goals and tallied 15 assists, 12 steals and four field blocks.

Robinson, an attacker from Palos Verdes, Calif. (Palos Verdes HS), earned All-Academic honors for the second time in his career. He played in 13 games, scoring seven goals while registering 11 assists and six steals.

Rone, an attacker from Coronado, Calif. (Cathedral Catholic HS), earned All-Academic honors for the third straight season. He played in 25 games making 12 starts, scoring 12 goals. He also registered 31 assists, eight steals and two field blocks.

Vlachonassios, an attacker/utility from Huntington Beach, Calif. (Huntington Beach HS), earned All-Academic honors for the first time in his career. He played in 19 games, scoring five goals. He also tallied 10 steals, eight assists and one field block.

Wolf, a goalkeeper from Huntington Beach, Calif. (Huntington Beach HS), earned All-Academic honors for the first time in his career. The 2017 NCAA Championship MVP played in 22 games making 21 starts. He registered 193 saves on the year while sporting a goals against average of 6.98.
