UCLA sophomore Felicia Hano has been selected the Pac-12 Specialist of the Week for the first time in her career.
Hano, who hails from San Gabriel, Calif., scored her first-ever perfect 10 on Sunday with a career-best performance on floor exercise that helped UCLA record a season-high team total of 197.950. UCLA's floor score of 49.675 was the fifth-highest in school history and the highest since the 2004 national championship squad scored 49.7. Hano's floor victory was her second of the year, and her perfect 10 on floor was the first by a Bruin gymnast since Sydney Sawa in 2014. Sawa's floor routine was passed down to Hano this season. Hano now leads the team with a 9.913 scoring average on floor and ranks No. 8 in the nation on the event.
UCLA has won every Pac-12 Specialist of the Week award this season. Christine Peng-Peng Lee has won the award three times, and Grace Glenn won once.
Joining Hano in winning the weekly awards is Gymnast of the Week MaKenna Merrell-Giles of Utah and Freshman of the Week Rachael Flam of Stanford.
No. 4 UCLA will resume Pac-12 Conference play on Saturday, Feb. 10 at California at 11:30 am.
