SAN FRANCISCO – Eloise Belanger has been named the Pac-12 Diver of the Week for competitions held Feb. 5-11, the conference announced Wednesday.
Crosstown rival and then-No. 10 USC invaded Spieker Aquatics Center Feb. 9, winners of 11 straight meets against UCLA. With the help of Belanger, who won both diving events, the Bruins snapped that skid with a 150-150 tie. The junior would go on to claim victory in a Platform competition one day later.
After eking out the 1-Meter win (306.23) over the Trojans' Naomi Gowlett (300.38) and teammate Ciara Monahan (299.33), Belanger dominated the 3-Meter event. The Monteal, QC, Canada native posted a personal-best mark of 343.35, including a 205B that earned her a score of 72.00. The closest competitor came in at 291.38. Then, for good measure, Belanger tacked on a five-dive score of 262.88 to take Saturday's Platform contest.
Belanger has earned a plethora of honors from the Pac-12 thus far in 2017-18. She was previously named the conference's Diver of the Month for December—the second such honor of her career—then picked up the inaugural Diver of the Week award for Jan. 8-14.
