Mace Called up to U.S. Women's National Team

Mace joins three other Bruins on the preliminary roster for the SheBelieves Cup.

UCLA junior Hailie Mace has been called up to the U.S. Women's National Team for the first time in her career, one of four Bruins selected by head coach Jill Ellis to the 26-player preliminary roster for the SheBelieves Cup.

Mace, the Bruins' leading scorer in 2017 with 15 goals and 33 points, will play as a defender with the U.S. team. She previously played as a defender with UCLA as a freshman and sophomore, as well as with the U.S. U-23 National Team. As a forward with the Bruins this past season, Mace earned first-team All-America honors and was a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy. Mace has started in 62 consecutive games for UCLA.

Joining Mace on the preliminary roster are UCLA alumna Abby Dahlkemper, and Mace's former teammates Taylor Smith and Mal Pugh. The SheBelieves Cup features the Top 3 FIFA-ranked teams in No. 1 USA, No. 2 Germany and No. 3 England, along with No. 6 France. The teams will play in three doubleheader events at three different venues over a seven-day period.

The U.S. team will convene in Orlando, Florida on Feb. 19 for a week of training before heading to Columbus, Ohio to kick off the tournament on Thursday, March 1 at MAPFRE Stadium. England will open against France at 1 pm PT, followed by the USA against Germany at 4 pm PT on ESPN2.

All the teams will then travel to New Jersey and Red Bull Arena, where the USA will play the first match of the day on Sunday, March 4, taking on France at 9 am PT on ESPN2, folowed by Germany vs. England at 12 pm PT. The tournament will finish on Wednesday, March 7, at Orlando City Stadium in Orlando, Florida, as France takes on Germany at 1 pm PT, followed by the tournament finale featuring the USA against France at 4 pm PT on ESPNews.

The 23-player roster for the SheBelieves Cup will be finalized near the end of camp before the team heads to Columbus.
