WOODLAND, Calif. – UCLA's Maddie Musselman was named MPSF Player of the Week for Week 6, the conference announced Tuesday.
Musselman posted her third hat trick of the season Feb. 16, completing the trifecta in a game-winning fashion at No. 7 UC Irvine. With 1:42 to go in double overtime, the sophomore took advantage of a six-on-five opportunity to give the Bruins an 8-7 lead it would not relinquish.
The goal marked the second go-ahead score of the evening for the Corona del Mar, Calif. native. Musselman also shined off the ball, racking up two steals, three sprints won and a career-high five earned exclusions to help the No. 4 Bruins improve to 13-1.
The Player of the Week honor marks the second of Musselman's career. She earned a conference record seven Newcomer of the Week awards during her freshman campaign.
