SAN FRANCISCO - The Bruins were picked second in the Pac-12 Preseason Coaches Poll, which was announced by the conference on Monday.

UCLA, which finished in a tie for third last year in Pac-12 play, earned 55 points and a pair of first-place votes. Oregon tops the rankings, receiving 63 points and the remaining seven first-place votes. Following the Bruins are Washington (3rd, 51 points), Arizona (4th, 44), Utah (5th, 34), Arizona State (6th, 31), California (7th, 19), Oregon State (8th, 18) and Stanford (9th, 9).

The fourth-ranked Bruins open their 2018 season on Friday at Easton Stadium with a doubleheader against Maryland and Middle Tennessee, starting at 3:30 p.m. Live audio will be available for both contests at UCLABruins.com.
