SANTA MONICA, Calif. -- No. 2 UCLA (12-3) opened play in the LMU Invitational with a 5-0 win over Missouri State on Saturday morning at Ocean Park Beach.

Reigning Pac-12 Pair of the Week, freshman Megan Muret and junior Izzy Carey, gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead in a dominant performance on court four over MSU's Sarah Demmer and Caroline Finney, 21-6, 21-7.

Freshman Jamie McQuarrie made her season debut on court five with sophomore Chanti Holroyd and the new duo turned in a dominating performance on court five, defeating the Bears' Lynsey Wright and ivy Reynolds, 21-9, 21-8.

Megan McNamara and Nicole McNamara clinched the dual on court one with a 21-5, 21-13 victory over MSU's Taylor Fricano and Veronica Snelling.

UCLA's junior Sarah Sponcil and sophomore Lily Justine put the Bruins up 4-0 with another dominant win, 21-5, 21-7 on court two over Aubrey Cheffey and Julian Hanson.

Freshman Mac May and senior Elise Zappia completed the sweep with a straight-set win on court three over Sam Brinkmann and Mikaela Mosquera, 21-13, 21-16.

UCLA (13-3) continued the day with another 5-0 sweep, this time over Colorado Mesa an hour later.

UCLA took a 1-0 lead on court one when the Bruins' junior tandem of Megan McNamara and Nicole McNamara defeated CMU's Taylor Woods and Katie Scherr , 21-12, 21-4.

The Bruins built a 2-0 lead on court three as junior Zana Muno and sophomore Savvy Simo defeated the Mavericks' Samantha Ritter and Kasie Gilfert in straight sets, 21-12, 21-18.

UCLA clinched the dual on court two after junior Sarah Sponcil and sophomore Lily Justine won in straight sets over Hana Peterman and Megan Gianinetti, 21-11, 21-12.

Another straight-set victory followed on court four when Bruin freshman Mac May and senior Elise Zappia defeated CMU's Hailey Crane and Lindy Dixon, 21-10, 21-5.

The Bruins completed the 5-0 sweep on court five when junior Izzy Carey and freshman Megan Muret won in straight sets over the Mavericks' Natalee Todd and Ara Norwood, 21-13, 21-13.

The Bruins built a 2-0 lead on court two when junior Sarah Sponcil and sophomore Lily Justine won in straight sets over Sara Kovac and Jessie Prichard, 21-17, 21-14.

UCLA secured the dual victory on court four as Bruin freshman Mac May and senior Elise Zappia defeated LMU's Veronica Nederend and Maddie Leiphardt, 21-12, 21-19.

Court three saw UCLA's junior Zana Muno and sophomore Savvy Simo defeat the Lions' Chloe Reinig and Kekai Whitford in come-from-behind fashion, 18-21, 21-5, 15-11.

Another three-set thriller occurred on court five when junior Izzy Carey and freshman Megan Muret defeated LMU's Bozena Culo and Emma Doud, 21-10, 14-21, 15-9.

The Bruins return to action on Saturday, March 24 when they compete at the Pac-12 South Invitational at Ocean Park Beach for the second straight weekend. The Bruins will open with Arizona State at 9:00 a.m. PT. and will also face Arizona at Noon. The following day, UCLA will take on California at 9:00 a.m. PT and Washington at Noon.
