Six Bruins - Grace Glenn, Napualani Hall, Felicia Hano, Christine Peng-Peng Lee, Katelyn Ohashi and Kyla Ross - have earned regular season All-America honors for 2018, as awarded by the National Association of College Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W).
Glenn, a redshirt freshman from Charlotte, NC, received first-team honors on balance beam. She ranks tied for fifth in the nation with a Regional Qualifying (RQS) score of 9.925. Glenn has competed in every meet for the Bruins this season and averages 9.871. In her last seven meets, she has scored no lower than 9.875, and her season-high is 9.95, which she has scored three times this season.
Hall, a senior from Kansas City, Mo., earned her first career All-America honor by receiving second-team acclaim on vault. Hall ranks ninth in the nation with a RQS of 9.915, and she has scored 9.95 or higher three times, including a career-high 9.975 on Mar. 13 vs. San Jose State.
Hano, a sophomore from San Gabriel, Calif., earned first-team honors on floor exercise and second-team on vault. She now has three career All-America awards to her credit. Hano ranks seventh nationally on floor with a 9.935 RQS and 15th on vault with a 9.9 RQS. Tied with Ohashi for the team's highest season average on floor exercise with a 9.925, Hano has posted seven scores of 9.9 or higher and nothing lower than 9.875. She scored her first career perfect 10 on Feb. 4. On vault, she is averaging 9.867 with a high of 9.925 scored twice.
Lee, a sixth-year senior from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, finished the regular season ranked No. 1 on balance beam with a 9.985 RQS to earn first-team honors and ended the year ranked No. 9 on uneven bars with a 9.940 RQS to receive second-team acclaim. Lee, who is now an eight-time All-American, has scored a team-high five perfect 10s this year, including a national-best four on balance beam. Lee was recently named the Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Ohashi, a junior from Seattle, Wash., closed out the regular season ranked No. 1 in the nation on floor exercise (9.945 RQS) and No. 3 on balance beam (9.970 RQS) to earn first-team All-America honors on both events. Last year, she finished the year ranked No. 1 on beam. Ohashi leads the nation with three perfect 10s on floor exercise, and she averages over 9.9 on both beam (9.911) and floor (9.925). Ohashi, the Pac-12 Specialist of the Year, now has four All-America honors in her career.
Ross, a sophomore from Aliso Viejo, Calif. and the first female gymnast to become an Olympic, World and NCAA champion, earned first-team honors on uneven bars and in the all-around. Ross ranks No. 1 in the nation on bars with a RQS of 9.960 and is No. 6 in the nation in the all-around with a RQS of 39.625. The 2018 Pac-12 all-around and uneven bars co-champion now has a total of seven All-America honors.
UCLA has now produced 71 All-Americans who have totaled 353 All-America honors.
First-team All-Americans are the Top 8 ranked gymnasts on each event and the all-around. Second-team All-Americans are the gymnasts ranked No. 9-16.
