LOS ANGELES - Senior Madeline Jelenicki, sophomore Bubba Nickles and freshman Briana Perez each had singles on Thursday at Easton Stadium, but the top-ranked Bruins dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 6 Arizona State.

The Bruins fall to 48-4 overall and 18-4 in Pac-12 play, while the Sun Devils improve to 43-9 and 16-6 in league.

Redshirt sophomore Rachel Garcia (19-2) struck out 10 in a complete-game, two-hitter, giving up three runs and one walk. She struck out two in the first, third, fifth and seventh innings and had 1-2-3 frames in the second, third and sixth.

The only runs of the game came on one swing of the bat in the fourth, as Marisa Stankiewicz hit a three-run homer to left-center with one out.

All three Bruins' hits were infield singles in the fifth (Jelenicki), sixth (Perez) and seventh (Nickles), with UCLA getting two runners to second base for the game.

The Bruins and the Sun Devils continue their three-game series on Friday at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast on Pac-12 Networks.
