LOS ANGELES – A total of 24 UCLA track & field athletes across 20 events have qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary Round in Sacramento, Calif. next week.
The West Preliminary, hosted by Sacramento State, features the student-athletes with the top 48 marks in each individual event and the relay teams with the top 24 times.
The top-12 finishers in each individual and team event in Sacramento will advance to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore. from Jun 6-9. Combined events (Heptathlon and Decathlon) are not contested at the Preliminary Round sites, but UCLA's Kendall Gustafson should qualify for nationals as she currently has the No. 8 heptathlon score (5,886) in the country this season.
