SAN FRANCISCO – The Pac-12 Conference announced its Beach Volleyball All-Academic teams today and a Bruin record seven student-athletes from the NCAA National Championship squad made the grade, as announced by Commissioner Larry Scott.
Juniors Izzy Carey, Megan McNamara and Nicole McNamara were all selected as Pac-12 First Team All-Academic performers. Sophomore Lily Justine was the lone Bruin chosen as a Pac-12 Second Team All-Academic selection. Senior Elise Zappia, junior Zana Muno and sophomore Savvy Simo all received Pac-12 Honorable Mention All-Academic honors.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and appear in at least 50 percent of their team's dual matches while having completed at least one full academic year at the institution.
