LOS ANGELES – The UCLA baseball team has captured a No. 2 seed at the NCAA Baseball Tournament's Minneapolis Regional, hosted by Minnesota, beginning on Friday, June 1. The Bruins earn their third postseason appearance in the last four seasons and the 10th since 2006.

UCLA earned its 22nd NCAA Tournament berth and 10th under head coach John Savage. UCLA will be making its first Regional appearance outside the state of California since 2004, when they traveled to Oklahoma City as a No. 3 seed. UCLA is a No. 2 seed in a Regional for the first time since 2008.

The Bruins (36-19) will face No. 3 seed Gonzaga (32-22) on Friday, June 1 at 11 a.m. PT from Siebert Field. The Bulldogs earned the automatic qualifier from the West Coast Conference after winning the conference tournament on Saturday over Pepperdine 17-2. Gonzaga finished second overall in the WCC with a 16-11 mark.

No. 1 seed Minnesota (41-13), who won both the Big Ten regular season and tournament titles, will face the No. 4 seed Canisius (35-20), winners of the MAAC championship, in the other Regional contest on Friday. Each of the 16 Regionals features a four-team, double-elimination format. Both games on Friday will be streaming online at WatchESPN.

The 64-team NCAA Tournament bracket was revealed on ESPNU's hour-long selection show Monday at 9 a.m. (PT).

The Pac-12 Conference will send four teams to this year's NCAA Tournament. No. 2 overall seed Stanford and No. 3 Oregon State will host Regionals, while Washington will compete at the Conway Regional, hosted by Coastal Carolina.
