GULF SHORES, Ala. -- No. 1 UCLA rebounded from its first loss in two months to sweep No. 7 LSU (27-14), 3-0, on Saturday afternoon at the 2018 NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship at Gulf Shores Public Beach.

The Bruins, who improved to 37-4 on the year, will now face No. 5 USC (27-13) today at 2:00 p.m. PT/4:00 p.m. CT in the contender's bracket with the match televised live on ESPN2 and all five courts streamed on ESPN3.

The Bruins put the first point on the board on court two when sophomore Lily Justine and junior Sarah Sponcil defeated LSU's Haleigh Nelson and Mandi Orellana in two easy sets, 21-10, 21-8.

UCLA went up 2-0 after another straight-set win, this time on court three, as junior Zana Muno and sophomore Savvy Simo defeated the Tigers' Olivia Powers and Hunter Domanski, 21-13, 21-15.

Juniors Megan McNamara and Nicole McNamara sealed the win on court one over LSU's Claire Coppola and Kristen Nuss in straight sets, 21-10, 21-17.
