EUGENE, Ore. – A total of 26 members of the UCLA track & field team were named to the 2018 Pac-12 All-Academic  Team, it was announced by the league office on Thursday.

Four Bruins received either first or second team recognition, while 22 others were named honorable mention. On the men's side, both Scott Snow and Millen Trujillo were named first teamers and Andy Ehrenberg earned a second team nod. On the women's side, Kendall Gustafson was tabbed to the second team.

It was the second consecutive All-Academic First Team honor for Trujillo, a redshirt sophomore distance runner. On the track, Trujillo nailed down a regional spot in the 1500m after running a collegiate-best 3:46.20 at the USC Dual Meet. In the classroom, he has accrued a 3.90 cumulative GPA as a political science major.

Snow also picked up the second first team nod of his career on Thursday, as he also received the honor in 2016. A mathematics/applied science major with a 3.77 GPA, the senior from Woking, England competed in a variety of events this year, performing best in the 3000m steeplechase where he was able to log a career-best 9:16.37 at the Pac-12 Championships.

Ehrenberg put together a 3.79 GPA while majoring in statistics and serving as a solid distance runner for the Bruins. His best result of the year came in the USC Dual Meet, when he finished third in the steeplechase with a time of 9:39.57.

Gustafson meanwhile has totaled a 3.80 GPA in geography/environmental studies while maintaining her position as one of the best heptathletes in the collegiate ranks. A 2018 MPSF Indoor Academic selection, Gustafson put together a score of 5,886 in the 2018 Pac-12 Combined Events Championships, landing her at No. 2 on the UCLA All-Time List – trailing only the legendary Jackie Joyner-Kersee – and the No. 7 seed in the NCAA Championships. The heptathlon finals will take place on Friday, Jun. 7 and Saturday, Jun. 8.

Honorable mentions on the men's side include: redshirt sophomore Colin Burke, senior Daniel De La Torre, junior George Gleason, sophomore Riley Kelly, redshirt freshman Chris Morzenti, senior Reed Scale, sophomore Marian Spannowsky, junior Justin Stafford, and junior Kai Wong. Women's honorable mentions featured: senior Efe Agege, sophomore Kelly Bernd, senior Jelvon Butler, sophomore Christina Chenault, senior Jessica Cushing-Murray, senior Kaelin Davis, junior Lana Frazier, junior Jackie Garner, sophomore Mikella Lefebvre-Oatis, senior Jessie Maduka, junior Melissa Maneatis, senior Pattriana Perry, and sophomore Lucie Semone.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
