FRENCH LICK, Ind. - Bruin alum Stephanie Kono won for the first time in her professional career after claiming the second annual Donald Ross Classic. Kono shot a final-round, 3-under 68 on Saturday to finish at 11-under 202 to win by one stroke.

"It's amazing and I still can't believe I did that," said Kono to the Symetra Tour website. "Such a great feeling and I'm so grateful. I was out for a while last year and just had some bad times. I've had such a good group of people around me that kept me believing. This is unreal, but I'm so thankful."

Kono is the second Bruin alum to win on the Symetra Tour in 2018 after Louise Ridderström won the Valley Forge Invitational in May.

With the victory, Kono moved up to eighth in the Volvik Race for the Card standings. The Top 10 in the rankings at the end of the season in October will earn their LPGA Tour card for 2019.
