WOLCOTT, Colo. - After 18 holes at the Golfweek Conference Challenge, the top-ranked Bruins lead the field following an opening-round, 11-under 277 on Monday at Red Sky Golf Club. UCLA leads second-place Campbell (-2) by nine shots.

On the individual side, junior Clare Legaspi and sophomore Patty Tavatanakit are tied for first after shooting 4-under 68s. Each player made five birdies and just one bogey, with Legaspi making birdies on No. 2, 5, 6, 8 and 15 and Tavatanakit gaining strokes on No. 2, 8, 9, 11 and 15.

Junior Mariel Galdiano is tied for fifth, two shots back of her teammates following a 2-under 70. She made three birdies on the fifth, 11th and 18th to go with one bogey. Senior Beth Wu is tied for 12th (-1, 71), tallying six birdies (No. 1, 3, 5, 6, 8 and 14) and five bogeys. Senior Lilia Vu is tied for 15th, shooting an even-par 72 on a 10th-hole birdie, one bogey and 16 pars.

The Bruins' second round will tee off the first tee at 10:30 a.m. PT/11:30 a.m. MT in the order of Vu, Wu, Galdiano, Legaspi and Tavatanakit.
