SAN FRANCISCO - Sophomore Mac May has been named Pac-12 Conference Offensive Player of the Week after helping the Bruins to a pair of victories over fellow ranked foes last weekend at the USD Invitational.

May had 35 kills to go with 13 digs and three blocks in five-set victories over then-No. 12 Baylor and then-No. 19 San Diego. She set a new career high with 21 kills last Friday against Baylor, falling just one dig shy of a double-double with nine digs, while adding a .315 hitting percentage. May recorded a match-best 14 kills versus San Diego on Sunday, adding four digs, two blocks and an ace.

May currently leads the Bruins with 3.67 kills per set and is second with five service aces, adding 1.50 digs per set.

Since the advent of the Pac-12 handing out Offensive, Defensive and Freshman Player of the Week awards in 2011, the Bruins have earned 11 conference Offensive POW honors. May's award is the first Offensive POW for UCLA since Oct. 17, 2016. As a freshman last season, May was named Freshman of the Week twice (Aug. 28 and Sept. 25).

The Bruins, ranked ninth in this week's AVCA Coaches Poll, travel to San Luis Obispo next week for a pair of matches against No. 22 Cal Poly on Thursday, Sept. 6 and Friday, Sept. 7. Both matches will be 7 p.m. starts.
