NEWPORT BEACH, CA. – The Lott IMPACT Trophy has named UCLA senior safety Adarius Pickett as one of 20 defensive players selected as quarter-finalists for the annual award, now in its 15th season. The announcement was made by the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation in Newport Beach, CA on Thursday. Voting for the winner and finalists will take place in November and the 15th annual awards banquet will be held Dec. 9 at the Pacific Club in Newport Beach.

Pickett leads the Bruins in tackles this season (70) and currently ranks third in the Pac-12 and ninth in the NCAA in tackles per game with an 11.7 per game mark. He has topped the team in tackles in five of the six games played to date, producing double-digit tackles in four contests. He registered his career-high for tackles with 16 in the game versus Washington, while adding 15 against Cincinnati, 13 versus Fresno State and 12 at Oklahoma.

UCLA has produced two of the previous winners of the Lott IMPACT Trophy as linebackers Anthony Barr and Eric Kendricks, now teammates with the Minnesota Vikings, received the award in 2013 and 2014, respectively.

Named after Pro Football Hall of Fame member, Ronnie Lott, The Lott IMPACT Trophy is awarded to college football's Defensive IMPACT Player of the Year. Founded in 2004 by The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation, The Lott Trophy is the first and only college football award to equally recognize athletic performance and the personal character attributes of the player. The Lott Trophy is given to the player who exhibits the same characteristics Lott embodied during his distinguished career: Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity. Voters for the award include selected members of the national media, previous finalists, the Board of Directors of the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation and a distinguished group of former college football head coaches. To date, the Foundation has donated more than $1.5 million to various charities throughout the country.
