Freshman center Moses Brown of the UCLA men's basketball team has been named the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Nov. 5-11.
Brown averaged 18.0 points, 13.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game in the Bruins' first two contests last week. He registered 19 points and 17 rebounds in the team's 96-71 season-opening win against Purdue Fort Wayne on Nov. 6. Brown became the first UCLA player to record at least 19 points and 17 rebounds in his varsity debut since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (then known as Lew Alcindor) tallied 56 points and 21 rebounds against USC on Dec. 3, 1966. Brown also had 17 points and 10 rebounds against Long Beach State in the team's 91-80 win on Friday night.
This is Brown's first career UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week award.
