UCLA (2-7, 2-4) travels to face Arizona State (5-4, 3-3) in Tempe for a Pac-12 Conference matchup on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 11:00 a.m. PT/Noon MT. The game will be televised by the Pac-12 Network. The Bruin IMG Radio Network will broadcast the contest, which will also be aired over Sirius/XM, 97.3 FM THE FAN, uclabruins.com, tunein.com and TuneIn App. The Bruins will be seeking a second-straight win over ASU after posting a 44-37 win last year in the Rose Bowl.
In last year's matchup in the Rose Bowl (Nov. 11), Josh Rosen threw for 381 yards and a touchdown. ASU had jumped out to a 14-0 lead to start the contest, but Nate Meadors' 27-yard interception return put the Bruins on the board. It was followed up by a Rosen one-yard scoring plunge which evened the score at 14-all. ASU then rallied to take a 21-20 halftime edge. The Bruins outscored the Devils 14-3 to begin the second half. However, ASU tied the score at 34 following a blocked punt return. Jordan Lasley hauled in a 22-yard scoring pass in the fourth quarter to put UCLA up 41-34 and JJ Molson's third field goal of the game made it 44-34 with nine minutes to play. ASU managed a field goal down the stretch to make the final 44-37. Both teams produced over 500 yards of offense. Krys Barnes led UCLA with 14 tackles.
The teams last met in Tempe during the 2016 season (Oct. 8) and ASU prevailed 23-20. Josh Rosen battled through an injury-plagued performance to rack up 400 passing yards. The score was tied at 3-3 at the half. Rosen left in the first half with a lower body injury, but returned to throw second-half scoring passes to Jordan Lasley and Nate Iese. The scoring pass to Iese cut the ASU lead to 23-20 with 11:10 to play, but the Bruins could not find the go-ahead points down the stretch behind backup Mike Fafaul. The Bruins finished with -1 yards rushing in the contest. The defense held the Sun Devils to 275 yards of total offense.
The Bruins last won at Sun Devil Stadium on Sept. 25, 2014 by a score of 62-27. Defensive back Ishmael Adams returned a kickoff 100 yards and an interception 95 yards for a pair of scores in the contest. The 62 points was the most points scored by an opponent in the history of Sun Devil stadium. Brett Hundley threw for 355 yards and four touchdowns and also ran for 72 yards and another score.
First-year head coach Chip Kelly was named UCLA's head football coach on Nov. 25, 2017. Kelly compiled a 46-7 record in four seasons as the head coach at the University of Oregon (2009-12). During that span, his Duck teams captured first place or a share of first in the North Division of the conference (three outright conference championships 2009-11) and four BCS bowl games. Kelly guided Oregon to appearances in a National Championship Game (2010), two Rose Bowls (after 2011 and 2009 seasons) and the Fiesta Bowl following the 2012 season. He also has served as the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers (2016) and the Philadelphia Eagles (2013-15).

With 107 career catches after five grabs at Oregon, Howard moved within one catch of moving into the top 20 at the school for receptions (108 by Karl Dorrell,1982-86 and Cormac Carney, 1980-82) ... Against Utah, he became the 25th 100-catch receiver in UCLA history. He hauled in a season-best total of nine catches vs. UW and went over 1,000-yards for his career vs. Arizona.
