The Bruin men (No. 7 regionally) are set to face seven nationally ranked foes in the field, including fourth-ranked Portland (No. 1 regionally), fifth-ranked Stanford (No. 2 regionally), seventh-ranked Washington (No. 3 regionally) and ninth-ranked Boise State (No. 4 regionally).

The UCLA women's team is currently just one spot outside the top 30 in the latest USTFCCCA poll and is up one spot in the West Region at No. 6.

The Bruins will have their hands full in the field, facing five nationally ranked teams. Those squads include: No. 2 Oregon (No. 1 regionally), No. 3 Boise State (No. 2 regionally), No. 6 Stanford (No. 3 regionally), No. 17 Washington (No. 4 regionally) and No. 19 Portland (No. 5 regionally).

PAC-12 CHAMPIONSHIPS RECAP
The Pac-12 Championships, which took place on Oct. 26 at the Stanford Golf Course, saw the women and men take fifth and sixth place, respectively.

Erika Adler clocked a time of 20:09.51 to finish 13th on the women's side, while Christina Riceย (20:39.19) and Claire Markeyย (20:58.52) took 25thย and 35th, respectively. UCLA finished with 158 points, topping Oregon State (173), Utah (191), Washington State (249), Arizona State (250), Arizona (251), California (277) and USC (376).

On the men's side, Colin Burke was the highest finisher on the day for the Bruins, just missing all-conference and finishing 11thย with a time of 23:15.7. Garrett Reynoldsย followed at 25thย with a mark of 23:40.2, followed by Cole Smith (29th, 23:47.3) and Carter Bluntย (37th, 24:01.8). The Bruins compiled 145 points and took down California (196), Arizona (213) and Arizona State (241).

A LOOK AT LAST YEAR'S WEST REGIONAL
During the 2017 season, the Bruin men collected a fifth place finish, while the women took 12th at the West Regional Championships in Seattle. Reynolds, a sophomore at the time, led the men in the 10K race with a 14th-place finish, clocking a time of 29:50.7. On the women's side, Cassandra Durgy was the top runner for the Bruins, posting a mark of 20:52.1 to finish 51st.

The Bruins have won three team titles and three individual championships at the NCAA West Regional Championships. The UCLA men collected consecutive West Region titles from 1980-81, with Bruin standout Ron Cornell taking the 1980 individual crown. In 1986, the UCLA women took home the team championship, and Karen Hecox won the 1993 individual title. American distance running legend and UCLA alumnus Meb Keflezighi won the 1997 NCAA West Regional Championship on the way to an NCAA Championship later that season.
