Seven Bruins Receive All-Pac-12 Football Honors

Caleb Wilson and Adarius Pickett highlight the Bruin representatives on the 2018 All-Pac-12 Conference Football Team which was announced on Tuesday by Commissioner Larry Scott. Wilson, a redshirt junior tight end was UCLA's lone first-team selection on the squad which is determined in a vote of the conference coaches. Pickett, a redshirt senior safety who led the Bruins in tackles, was named to the second-team.
Wilson topped the nation's FBS tight ends in receptions per game (5.0), receiving yards per game (80.4) and total receiving yards (965) this season. His totals of 60 catches and 965 yards in 2018 were the most ever by a Bruin tight end and ranked 11th on each all-time school season list. Wilson ranked tied for 10th among all Pac-12 receivers in receptions per game and was tied for fifth among all league receivers with an 80.4 receiving yards per game average. He compiled three 100-yard receiving games for the season (102 yards-Washington, 164-Arizona State, 184-Stanford).
Pickett's total of 123 tackles in 2018 ranks as the 15th-best single-season total in school history. He ranked fourth in the Pac-12, 20th in the NCAA, in total tackles per game (10.2) and was tied for fifth in the NCAA in solo tackles per game (6.4). He produced six double-digit tackle efforts during the season (15-Cincinnati, 12-Oklahoma, 13-Fresno State, 16-Washington, 11-Oregon, 12-Arizona State) and became the first Bruin defensive back to exceed the 100-tackle mark for a season since Dennis Keyes in 2007.
Honorable mention selections included: Redshirt junior running back Joshua Kelley, who ranked fourth in the Pac-12 and eighth in the NCAA in rushing yards per game (113.0) as well as third in the league in all-purpose yards per game (130.5) … Sophomore cornerback Darnay Holmes, who tied for fifth in the Pac-12 in passes defensed (1.0/g) and was tied for seventh in the league in interceptions (0.25/g) … Junior receiver Theo Howard, who finished the 2018 season with 51 receptions for 677 yards and four touchdowns, while having made a catch in 28 straight games … Senior punter Stefan Flintoft, who led the Pac-12 with a 45.8-yard average which ranked sixth in the nation … Junior kicker JJ Molson, who converted 14-19 field goals last season, was fourth in the league in field goals per game (1.17) and sixth in the Pac-12 in kick scoring (6.4 points/g).
The Bruins will open the 2019 season on Aug. 31 with a trip to play at Cincinnati. The first home game in Spieker Field at the Rose Bowl will be on Sept. 7 against San Diego State. A week later, Oklahoma comes to Pasadena on Sept 14.
