UCLA Falls in Extras to CSUN in Suspended Game

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. โ Due to inclement weather, UCLA Baseball and CSUN suspended Wednesday's midweek game in the eighth inning with the Bruins leading 3-2. The game resumed on May 15 at Jackie Robinson Stadium with the Bruins falling in the 13th inning, 4-3.
When the game restarted in the eighth inning, CSUN sent the game to extra innings when Albee Weiss hit a ground ball to third base with the bases loaded to make the score 3-3.
After four-straight scoreless innings, the Matadors won the game on a Weiss solo home run to left field.
The game began on March 14 at Matatdor field and UCLA grabbed a one-run lead in the top of the eighth inning before the rain suspended play when Chase Strumpf hit a two-out double down the left-field line followed by Jack Stronach smacking a double to right-center field to score Strumpf.
CSUN scored the first run of the game in the second inning as Kyle Barret hit a RBI-single to right field to plate Justin Toerner from second base.
The Bruins took their first lead in the fourth inning when Strumpf hit a two-run home run over the fence in left field to bring home Kyle Cuellar who led off the inning with a walk. The Matadors would tie the game in the bottom of the sixth inning as Weiss hit a solo home run to left field.
Tei Vanderford (5-2) earned the win throwing 3.1 scoreless innings allowing just one hit, while Kyle Mora (5-2) suffered the loss surrendering just one run on one hit with seven strikeouts.
UCLA ended the game with three runs on seven hits and no errors, while CSUN finished with four runs on eight hits with no errors.
