SANTA MONICA, Calif. -- No. 2 UCLA won its 13th consecutive dual with a 4-1 victory over No. 19 Washington (3-5) on Sunday afternoon Ocean Park Beach in the Bruins' final match of the Pac-12 South Invitational.
The Bruins, who improved to 18-3 on the season, will face No. 1 Pepperdine (15-2) for the third time this season on Tuesday, March 27 at 2:00 p.m. PT at Sunset Canyon Beach Volleyball Courts.
Juniors Megan McNamara and Nicole McNamara got the Bruins on the board first on court one with a straight-set win over UW's Jordan Anderson and Kimmy Gardiner, 21-18, 21-12.
Junior Zana Muno and sophomore Savvy Simo put the Bruins up 2-0 with a 21-16, 21-11 win over the Huskies' Carly DeHoog and Shayne McPherson on court three.
Then junior Izzy Carey and freshman Megan Muret secured the team dual win on court five with a 21-17, 21-8 victory over Washington's Emma Calle and Kara Bejama.
Senior Elise Zappia and freshman Mac May put the Bruins up 4-0 on court four with a three-set win over UW's Anna Crabtree and Natalie Robinson, 21-16, 18-21, 15-4.
The Huskies were able to avoid the shutout with a three-set come-from-behind win on court two as Destiny Julye and Courtney Schwan defeated the Bruins' sophomore Lily Justine and junior Sarah Sponcil, 17-21, 22-20, 15-13.
