No. 17 UCLA Routs CSUN, 15-2

LOS ANGELES – Ryan Kreidler drove in five runs and Jeremy Ydens recorded four RBIs on three hits as the No. 17 UCLA baseball team slugged past CSUN, 15-2, on Tuesday night at Jackie Robinson Stadium in the final midweek game of the season.
The Bruin offense was also led by Chase Strumpf recording two base hits including a home run and Michael Toglia going 3-for-3 with four runs scored.
Jack Ralston (1-4) earned his first career win tossing 5.1 innings, allowing two runs on six hits with seven strikeouts. Andrew Weston (0-2) suffered the loss allowed two runs on three hits in 3.0 innings of work.
UCLA jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the second inning when Kreidler drove in a pair of runs with a two-out, two-run single up the middle to bring home Michael Toglia and Daniel Amaral, who scored all the way from first base.
CSUN got one back in the top of the third inning, but the Bruins responded with four runs in the fourth inning to take a 6-1 lead. Kreidler came up big once again to score two runs on a single to left field with the bases loaded, followed two batters later by Jeremy Ydens clearing the bases with a two-run single to left field with two outs.
After scoring two more runs in the fifth inning, UCLA pulled away with a six-run sixth inning. Strumpf began the scoring with a two-run home run that snuck just inside the left-field foul pole. Jake Pries plated a run on a hit by pitch followed by Daniel Rosica drawing a bases-loaded walk. Ydens would then bring in the final runs of the inning with a two-out single to left field for a 14-2 lead.
UCLA's bullpen of Michael Townsend, Garrett Barker, Nathan Hadley and Holden Powell combined to toss 3.2 shutout innings with three strikeouts.
UCLA (32-17) finished the game with 15 runs on 14 hits with no errors, while CSUN (25-27) scored two runs on eight hits with two errors.
UCLA will host Oregon in a Pac-12 series this weekend for the final three home games of the season beginning on Friday at 4 p.m. PT. All three games of the series will be televised on the Pac-12 network.
