
Cavano Selected UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of Week

Freshman attacker/utility Jake Cavano of the UCLA men's water polo team has been named the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Sept. 10-16.
Cavano, who missed the first eight games of the season with an injury, made a stellar collegiate debut this week, leading the Bruins in scoring with 10 goals in three games as No. 2 UCLA improved to 11-0 on the year. He scored his first collegiate goal in a win at No. 7 UC Santa Barbara on Sept. 13 and then had a team-high five goals (on six shots) in a home win over No. 10 Pepperdine, followed by a team-best four scores (on four shots) in a home win over Loyola Marymount on Sept. 15. On the week, he shot 10-for-14 while recording three assists, three steals and one field block in the three games.
This is Cavano's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week of the season and his career.
