
Senior Katelyn Ohashi of the UCLA gymnastics team has been named the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Jan. 7-13.
Ohashi recorded her first perfect 10 of the season and the sixth of her career, performing a flawless floor exercise routine at the Collegiate Challenge in Anaheim. Video of her performance has exceeded 50 million views. Ohashi also won the balance beam, scoring 9.975. She is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation on those two events. With help from her scores, the Bruins totaled 197.700, the third-highest score in the nation. The Bruins' floor exercise team totaled 49.700, the fifth-highest floor score in school history.
This is Ohashi's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week award this season and third of her career.
