SEATTLE – Kris Wilkes scored a team-leading 20 points as the UCLA men's basketball team dropped a 69-55 decision at Washington in a Pac-12 game on Saturday afternoon.
 
Playing before a sellout crowd of 10,000 at Alaska Airlines Arena, the Bruins (12-10, 5-4) fell behind by a 31-23 margin at halftime and could not dig into Washington's lead in the second half.
 
Washington (18-4, 9-0) recorded its 11th consecutive win and stayed perfect in Pac-12 play.
 
Jaylen Nowell and David Crisp each scored 15 points for the Huskies, while Matisse Thybulle added 14 points, four rebounds, three assists and a game-high seven steals.
 
The Huskies forced 23 turnovers by UCLA, including 18 in the first half.
 
Prince Ali was the Bruins' only other player to score in double figures, as he finished with 12 points. Moses Brown totaled nine points, all in the first half, and grabbed a team-leading seven rebounds.
 
Washington secured control of the contest late in the first half. With the scored at 20-20, the Huskies ended the opening half with an 11-3 scoring, capped by a 3-pointer from Crisp with just two seconds to play. That allowed Washington to enter the locker room at the break with a 31-23 lead.
 
UCLA fell behind by as many as 14 points with 12:35 to go in the second half before using a 7-0 scoring run to cut Washington's cushion to 46-39 with 11:12 remaining.
 
Washington immediately answered with a basket and ensuing free throw from Nowell, pushing the Huskies' advantage up to 10 points (49-39) with 10:13 left in the contest.
 
The Bruins were unable to pull to within nine points or fewer in the game's final five minutes.
 
UCLA will return to action at home against Colorado on Wednesday, Feb. 6. Game time is slated for 6 p.m. (PT). UCLA's game on Wednesday will be televised by the Pac-12 Network.
