LOS ANGELES – Senior Eloise Belanger has been named the Pac-12 Diver of the Week for the period of Feb. 10-17, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday.
The reigning conference diver of the year has now won the Pac-12 Diver of the Week award twice this season and six times in her career. A Bruin has won four of the six Pac-12 league awards this season, as Maria Polyakova was named the Pac-12 Diver of the Month in November and Diver of the Week on Jan. 23.
Belanger won both the 1m and 3m last Friday, Nov. 15, at USC in UCLA's final dual meet of the 2018-19 campaign.
Her 3-meter springboard score of 346.80 was over 45 points higher than the rest of the field and just shy of her season-best (348.38) set earlier this month.
She then topped the podium in 1-meter with 314.50 points. That competition came down the final dive, as she and second-place finisher Naomi Gowlett were separated by less than a point heading into the last dive of their lists.
UCLA is next in action at next week's Pac-12 Championships, held Feb. 27 to Mar. 3 at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash.
