Bruins score three perfect 10s but suffer first loss of the season at Oklahoma.

Norman, Okla. - The matchup between No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 2 UCLA was as good as advertised, with both teams tied heading into the final rotation in front of a record crowd of 10,177. But the Sooners pulled out five scores of 9.9 or higher on floor exercise to hand the Bruins their first loss of the season by two-tenths of a point, 197.775-197.575.

The Bruins scored a total of three perfect 10s in the meet, with Kyla Ross earning her third on vault and fourth on uneven bars this year, and Katelyn Ohashi capturing her fourth on floor exercise. Ross now has 12 career perfect 10s, while Ohashi has nine.

Ross was on 40 watch halfway through the meet but just missed out on her first-ever 10 on floor with a career-high 9.975. She finished her meet with a 9.875 on beam and tied her career-best and national-best all-around score of 39.850.

UCLA started the meet with a 49.3 on uneven bars, while Oklahoma began with a 49.425. The Bruins began with three-straight 9.8s from Margzetta Frazier, Felicia Hano and Macy Toronjo, before Norah Flatley upped it with a 9.875. After Madison Kocian's 9.825, Ross went up and nailed her routine for a perfect 10, marking the fifth consecutive week she has hit perfection.

The Sooners increased their lead in rotation two by scoring 49.575 on uneven bars, while the Bruins scored 49.225 on vault. Ross was the highlight of the rotation once again, sticking her Yurchenko 1.5 for another perfect score. Nia Dennis also scored well, hitting 9.875 on her Yurchenko full.

The Bruins made up some ground in rotation three. Trailing 99.000-98.525, UCLA hit a 49.675 on floor exercise to tie it up after the Sooners scored 49.2 on balance beam. The Bruins received scores of 9.825 from Frazier, 9.925 from Gracie Kramer, and 9.850 from Pauline Tratz to start and closed with Ross' 9.975, Felicia Hano's 9.925 and Ohashi's 10.0.

In the final rotation, Grace Glenn led off on balance beam with a 9.9, and Ohashi closed with a 9.95, but the Bruins could only total 49.375 to Oklahoma's 49.575 on floor exercise. The Sooners dropped a 9.875, while the Bruins counted two 9.825 scores.
