Head coach Michael Sealy has announced the addition of 6-foot-4 middle blocker AnnaMarie Dodson (Fort Collins, Colo./Rocky Mountain HS/NORCO Volleyball) and 5-foot-9 libero/defensive specialist Mari Hinkle (Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS/Northern Lights Volleyball) to the UCLA women's volleyball roster. The duo will begin their freshman seasons this fall.

"AnnaMarie and Mari are two talented athletes and relentless competitors," Sealy said. "They compete with intention and are absolutely engaged on the court."

Dodson led Rocky Mountain HS to a 23-4 record in her junior season, posting 266 kills and 92 blocks. She did not play her senior year after suffering a left ACL injury last summer. An All-State 5A Honorable Mention selection, Dodson played club with NORCO Volleyball and also took part in the USA Volleyball Girls' Youth National Training Team.

"AnnaMarie plays the game like it is supposed to be played," Sealy said. "She is a tireless worker, patrols the net blocking and plays whistle-to-whistle with passion. AnnaMarie is a pleasure to watch and brings an inspiration that will have a big impact on this program physically, mentally and emotionally. I am excited and blessed to be able to spend the next four years with her."

Hinkle was named All-State First Team, Star Tribune All-Metro First Team, Under Armour All-American Third Team and SSC All-Conference following her senior season at Rosemount HS. A PrepVolleyball Senior Ace No. 28 and second-ranked libero, Hinkle played club at Northern Lights, helping her team win the 17-Open Division JO at the USAV National Championships, where she was named to the All-Tournament Team.

"Mari is the epitome of what you look for in a libero," Sealy said. "She is technically very skilled, plays fearless defense and has great court presence. Mari has had tons of success on the junior level and has grown accustomed to battling and winning. Mari is going to help set the standard of what it means to be a Bruin and has the tools to bring that level on a daily basis."
