FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - In a war of attrition on a tough scoring day in the first round of the NCAA Championship at Blessings Golf Club, the Bruins sit in 15th place following a 23-over 315. With 36 holes to go before the cut from 24 to 15 teams, UCLA is still in good shape, also ranking just five spots back of eighth place.

Sophomore Patty Tavatanakit was the low Bruin on Friday, recording a 2-over 75, as she is tied for 13th. She made a pair of birdies on No. 15 and 2 and four bogeys. Senior Beth Wu is tied for 39th following a 5-over 78. She had three birdies on No. 15, 5 and 7, five bogeys and a triple. Junior Clare Legaspi is tied for 67th (+7, 80), posting back-to-back birdies on No. 7 and 8, five bogeys and two doubles. Junior Mariel Galdiano is tied for 95th (+9, 82), making four bogeys, a double and a triple. Freshman Phoebe Yue is in 123rd (+14, 87), notching nine bogeys, a double and a triple.

Round two for the Bruins begins at 11:55 a.m. CT/9:55 a.m. PT off the first tee in the order of Yue, Galdiano, Legaspi, Wu and Tavatanakit.
