FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Bruins did not play a single shot on Saturday at Blessings Golf Club, as the second round of the NCAA Championship was suspended due to severe weather throughout the afternoon. The morning wave was able to get some play in, but the afternoon wave, which UCLA was a part of, did not get to the tee.
Second-round action will resume on Sunday at 10 a.m. CT/8 a.m. PT, with Saturday's morning wave continuing play, followed by the afternoon wave featuring the Bruins.
The stroke-play portion of the tournament has been shortened from 72 to 54 holes. All 24 teams will compete again on Monday, with the pairings for that round being determined by their 36-hole score. The field will then be cut to the top eight teams, which advance to the match play quarterfinals on Tuesday.
The Bruins entered Saturday's play in 15th place (+23, 315), but without playing a shot, are tied for 14th, four strokes behind eighth place.
