WOODLAND, Calif. – Six members of the UCLA women's water polo team have been named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) All-Academic Scholar-Athletes for the 2019 season, MPSF Executive Director Al Beaird announced on Friday.
The six Bruins on the list are highlighted by two first-time and four two-time honorees.
In order to qualify as an MPSF All-Academic Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must have a 3.00-or-better cumulative grade point average (GPA), be no lower than a sophomore in academic standing, have completed one full academic year at the institution prior to the season for which the award is received and have competed in 50 percent or more of the institution's competition in his or her respective sport.
Seniors Grace Reego (3.73) and Rachel Whitelegge (3.05), and juniors Maddie Musselman (3.27) and Bronte Halligan (3.33) each earned their second MPSF All-Academic honor.
Sophomores Lexi Liebowitz (3.62) and Roxy Wheaton (3.30) earned their first conference academic accolades.
